Lane Engineering, LLC is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

Roadway and Utility Construction Inspector

Lane Engineering, LLC is currently seeking a qualified Roadway, Utility and Infrastructure Construction Inspector for a contract employee position. Experience and references are required. The successful applicant will act as a field representative for Lane Engineering, LLC and will maintain daily communication with our Engineering staff throughout the duration of infrastructure construction projects.

Responsibilities will include, but no limited to:

  • Communication and coordination with the General Contractor and Lane Engineering Project Manager/Engineer
  • Communication and coordination with State and Local Regulators and Inspectors
  • Monitoring, inspection and written reporting of construction activities for conformance with Plans and Specifications
  • Monitoring and reporting of Sediment and Erosion Control practices, occupational safety regulations, traffic control practices, etc.
  • Maintaining familiarity with project permit requirements and overseeing contractor conformance with same
  • Ensuring materials testing is conducted in accordance with requirements
  • Attending progress and other meetings as required

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

  • 5 years demonstrated experience with inspection and/or supervision of heavy construction projects including Roadway, concrete, earthwork, grading, utility, traffic control and other related activities
  • Must be proficient with reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications and shop drawings
  • Must possess State of Maryland Erosion and Sediment Control Certification "Green Card"
  • Must be familiar with State Highway Administration traffic control requirements and materials testing procedures and requirements
  • Must be familiar with the construction, maintenance and function of sediment and erosion control practices
  • Must be attentive to details, organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software
  • Must possess a valid Maryland Drivers License with a satisfactory driving record

A company vehicle and cellular phone will be provided for use during work hours. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
