ROCKY GAP LODGE & GOLF RESORT
Cumberland, Maryland

Located within the Rocky Gap State Park, this golf course and hotel project was developed as a destination facility for tourism in an effort to boost the western Maryland economy. Working with the Maryland Economic Development Corporation (MEDCO), Jack Nicklaus Design Services, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, DNC Architects and Buena Vista Hospitality Group, LEI provided all civil engineering, surveying and environmental permitting for development of the project.
Special emphasis was placed on environmental aspects of the project, which included sediment control for 250 acres of disturbed ground, relocation of two Class III trout streams and construction of the Hotel and golf holes along the banks of Lake Habeeb, which is the drinking water reservoir for the area.

Lane Engineering worked closely with DNC Architects on the design of the 220-room hotel site, utilities and overall regulatory compliance; making efficient use of digital technology for sharing design drawings and other key information.
