Lockerman Street Reconstruction Project
This project involved the reconstruction of 700 lineal feet of Lockerman Street in Denton, MD. The previous street condition was very poor with cracking, sump pot holes and broken curing/sidewalk and had no ADA facilities. The reconstruction crossed existing abandoned railroad tracks.
The project included:
- installation of a new 8” water main that was both directionally bored and direct buried, including ties and system a switchover,
- new curb & gutter,
- ADA compliant sidewalks,
- driveway entrances,
- ADA compliant handicap ramps,
- Box out, over excavation and repair of roadway base areas
- installation of base and surface asphalt pavement.
Lane Engineering, LLC was responsible for planning, engineering design, specifications, funding assistance for CDBG funds, permitting, bidding, award, construction management, routine on-site construction inspection and project closeout. Fixed fee quotes for design services were not exceeded.
Cost and scheduling performance was maintained daily with direct communications with the contractor and the Town to bring this project to completion on time and within budget. Potential pay item or work scope increases brought forth by the contractor regarding GAB beneath curbing was reviewed in short order and resolved based upon pay item descriptions, details and specification language.
