Barry is the firm’s Principal Planner and Company President. He has 30 years experience in land planning and development consulting. Prior to joining Lane Engineering in 2000, Barry worked as the Deputy Director of Planning and Zoning for both Talbot and Queen Anne’s counties. Previous experience also includes planning and development consulting for private and public sector clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. In 1987 Barry served as a planning and development consultant to the Cayman Islands, BWI. Barry is a 1984 Salisbury State College graduate and has a Master of Science Degree in Planning from the University of Tennessee. Over the years Barry has served on numerous civic and development related commissions and advisory boards in Talbot and Queen Anne’s Counties.
As the Company President Barry directly manages and oversees the successful completion of many of the firms larger-scale design projects throughout the Eastern Shore and is the Managing Partner for the firm’s Centreville, Maryland office directly overseeing most of the firm’s work in Queen Anne’s County. Barry is a resident of Grasonville, Maryland.
Sean has over 25 years’ experience in land use planning and project management. Sean concentrates on environmental permitting and zoning, working directly with the clients and reviewing agencies to secure construction and subdivision approvals. Sean has also done significant expert witness testimony related to condemnation and civil cases regarding land use matters. His specialties are projects related to Chesapeake Bay Critical Areas, tidal and non-tidal wetlands, forestry, and mining. Sean is a Maryland Qualified Professional under the Forest Conservation Act and he is listed as a qualified contractor for wetland delineation services by the Maryland Department of the Environment. As the Cambridge Branch Manager, Sean takes the lead role on projects in Dorchester County. Sean graduated from Salisbury State University with a degree in Geography and Regional Planning and has past work experience that includes public sector work as the Zoning Administrator for Talbot County. Sean is a resident of Oxford, Maryland.
Jeff has more than 40 years’ experience in the Engineering and Surveying industry. He is a Registered Property Line Surveyor in Maryland and has extensive knowledge in Boundary and Topographic Surveying, Subdivision & Condominium Plats, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), Laser Scanning & Point Clouds, Construction Stakeout, FEMA Elevation Certificates & LOMA’s. Tens of Thousands of acres on Maryland’s Eastern Shore are preserved due to Jeff’s work with various conservation groups and government agencies. Jeff has managed Public and Private sector projects in West Virginia, Virginia, Washington D.C. and throughout the State of Maryland. Jeff severs on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Society of Surveyors, representing the Eastern Shore; Jeff is also past President of the Rotary Club of Cambridge and is the Immediate Past President of the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce. At Lane Engineering, LLC, Jeff is responsible for managing the survey department. Jeff is a resident of Cambridge, Maryland.
Tim joined LE LLC in 2005. Tim has multiple roles within the company including supervising all elements of site engineering design and municipal and utility engineering as well as providing project management and construction management services. Tim directs work produced by company engineers and other production staff and oversees the engineering designs for all projects. Tim was previously employed by the Easton Utilities Commission as Manager of the Engineering Department and also was employed by the Town of Easton in a dual role as Town Engineer. Tim graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is licensed in both Maryland and Delaware. Tim is currently Vice Chair of the Housing Commission of Talbot BOD, a 2-term past President of the Talbot Optimist Club and is involved in various local organizations. Tim resides in Preston, Maryland.
Matt has fifteen years of experience in the land surveying and engineering industry. He is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in both Maryland and Delaware with extensive knowledge of all facets of the trade including surveys for boundaries, topography, subdivisions, easements, bathymetry, ALTA/NSPS, construction stakeout, and elevation certificates. He is responsible for managing all the survey work and daily operations of the field crews. Matt is a 1999 graduate of Hotchkiss in Lakeville, Connecticut, and a 2003 graduate with a B.A. in economics from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Prior to Lane Engineering, Matt worked with Langan Engineering out of the Philadelphia office and has surveyed in most the big Northeast cities. Matt is an active member of the Maryland Society of Surveyors, the National Society of Professional Surveyors, the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Club in Easton, Maryland and the Tred Avon Yacht Club in Oxford, Maryland. Matt resides in Easton, Maryland.
Brett has 16 years of experience in the land use planning and design industry. He specializes in development and zoning regulation compliance in Talbot County, Town of Easton and St. Michaels and takes a lead role in managing projects in these jurisdictions while working closely with clients and reviewers to secure appropriate approvals. Prior to joining Lane in 2017, Brett worked as a Senior Planner and Project Manager for Town and County governments in both Maryland and Delaware. An Easton High graduate, he has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and Land Use Planning from Salisbury University and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Brett resides with his family in Easton, Maryland.
